Realizations

Oh- hello there. It's been a while, hasn't it? Hmm- what's that you ask? What has been going on in my life lately? Well, I am glad you asked. I have been realizing many things. Yup- realizing. Allow me to elaborate- something I happen to be quite good at.

This has been a hard season. I am growing up. My friendships are changing, and I am not exactly sure that I quite enjoy that. Life's frontier looks different now- hazy currently, and not just because of this crazy Ohio valley humidity currently curling my hair.

It kind of knocked me upside the head today: life is like a river, swirling around my ankles in a fluid current. I am at a point where I feel somewhat standstill, like life is moving at breakneck pace all of a sudden, sweeping away some of the old bulwarks I frequented. Relationships are in a constant state of fluctuation- some growing, some fading, some standing still, frozen for various reasons. I see people's lives changing in significant ways: career moves, college studies, babies, marriages. And I feel static in the midst of it all.

Hmm. I am glad God never changes- yesterday, today, forever the same. Not sure if I could handle the Creator of the Universe changing too.
